Information in English:
SFI courses for unemployed jobseekers are intensive courses with full day education. The courses are financed by Ålands landskapsregering and are free of charge for the student. Before each course starts, information is published on AMS website. The lessons are held at Medis (Citizens’ Institute in Mariehamn), Skarpansvägen 32.
Those admitted to the course must be:
- registered as an unemployed jobseeker with AMS and
- live on Åland
You can apply by filling out the application form. Submit your application to AMS.
The lessons are during the day, Monday to Friday 9:00-14:00 plus homework. Lunch break one hour.
Medis also arranges so-called general courses in Swedish for immigrants. These courses can be a good option if you do not want to or cannot participate in a SFI-course.
For more information about the application, please talk to your contact person at AMS.
- If you are not registered as a jobseeker with AMS, you need to register first. Read more about how to register with AMS here.
